Traditional Handicrafts Program
General Information
The training period of the program is 2 years and is divided into theoretical and practical courses. educational process courses; Ataturk's principles and history of Turkish language, foreign language, computer and General Office programs, Traditional Turkish Designs , Basic Weaving Preparations, Marbling , Book Arts, Natural Dyeing, Chine , Illumination , Miniature , Decorative Surface Painting, Hat such as It consists of basic courses. Students who complete the program become "Handicraft Technician" by obtaining an associate degree.With the Vertical Transfer Exam, they have the right to transfer to the related departments of Fine Arts Faculties such as Traditional Handcrafts. The handicraft technician carries out works that contribute to the economy and culture of the country by developing our rare examples of cultural riches with modern methods in areas such as decorative products, fiber and paint technology, ceramic glass and tile design and applications, decorative decoration arts, hand knitting, kirkit weaving.
History
Program; It was opened in Iğdır Vocational School under the name of traditional handicraft department between 2009-2010 and started education with 20 students. The program left Iğdır Vocational School between 2013-2014 and continued its education and training life as Technical Sciences Vocational School.
Program; Iğdır Meslek Yüksekokulun da 2009-2010 yılları arasında Geleneksel El Sanatları Programı adı altında açılmış, 20 öğrenci ile eğitime başlamıştır. Program 2013-2014 Yılları arasında Iğdır Meslek Yüksekokulundan ayrılarak, Teknik Bilimler Meslek Yüksekokulu olarak Eğitim ve Öğrenim hayatına devam etmiştir.
Academic Staff
Double Major / Minor Programs
Double Major Program: Allows students to obtain a bachelor's degree in another department they are interested in, in addition to their main department. In this program, students can complete courses from two different departments and obtain diplomas in both fields.
Minor Program: Allows the student to take a certain number of courses in another field of interest other than his/her main department. Students who complete the minor program are awarded an official certificate in this field; however, this does not imply a second bachelor's degree.

Exchange Programs
It offers students the opportunity to study at another university, either domestically or abroad, for a certain period. Through these programs, students have the chance to learn about different cultures, improve their foreign language skills, and gain international academic experience. The most common exchange programs include Erasmus+, Mevlana, and Farabi.

Career
Graduates' Title and Jobs: Those who have completed the handicraft program are given the title of "Handicraft Technician". The handicraft technician carries out works that contribute to the economy and culture of the country by developing our rare examples of cultural riches with modern methods in areas such as decorative products, fiber and paint technology, ceramic glass and tile design and applications, decorative decoration arts, hand knitting, kirkit weaving.
Fields of Work: Handicrafts technicians can work as teachers in public education centers, secondary education, and apprenticeship training centers. They can also be employed as technicians in the private sector, particularly in the textile industry
