The purpose of the handicraft program is to save our handicrafts from extinction and to train professional staff who will improve our handicrafts by using technology. Handicraft technicians, teacher in public education centers, secondary education, apprenticeship training centers; They can work as technicians in the private sector, textile and ceramics.

History

The department; first opened the Traditional Handicrafts Program in Iğdır Vocational School between 2009-2010 and started education with 20 students. The program was separated from Iğdır Vocational School between 2013-2014 and continued its education and training life as Technical Sciences Vocational School. Later, the Ceramics and Glass Art Design Program was opened in 2019 and started accepting students in 2020.
